  Here in Schmiedmann we always had the point of view that a BMW should have a oil-temperature instrument, because a BMW as known should have the "right" oil-temperature before you drive it in the high RPM´s!
  
  A lot of people wrongly thinks that the car is varm enough when the water temperature is in the middle, but this only means that the water is hot, and the oil will first reach the 80degrees and have the best viscosity much later, approximately first after 8-10km´s drive!
